We will reopen on 2nd December and plan to remain open during any future lockdowns

After a stop-start year, I wanted to share some good news about our re-opening and future service, and some added Christmas cheer.

Opening and staying open!

We’re thrilled to be reopening on the 2nd December, and we’ll be open 7 days a week. We’re booking up fast, so do book a float soon to ensure you can come at your favourite time.

We’re even more pleased to say it’s unlikely that we’ll be closed again in future. According to government guidelines, Floatworks falls into the category of ‘medical and health services’. This means that we can continue providing this important service for the benefit of our members’ physical and mental health during any similar lockdowns.

Scientific studies demonstrate the benefits of floating for mental health. The most consistent observation is that floatation therapy reduces levels of stress and increases feelings of relaxation. Floating decreases blood pressure, heart rate, and cortisol levels. And beneficial effects have been reported across hypertension, chronic tension headaches, chronic muscle tension pain in the back and neck, and stress-related pain with “burnout depression”.

It’s been great to work with float centres around the UK to make sense of the guidelines and share best practice for risk assessment and safety measures. Thank you to all those involved.

Spreading some cheer with our winter giveaways

This winter, we’re giving away a year’s membership to two lucky shoppers. We’ve already given away one membership to a Black Friday shopper and the other will go to someone who purchases a gift card in December.

Finally, our Act of Kindness Campaign continues! Nominate someone who’s been a hero this year, and we’ll enter them to win one of ten free floats!

We hope you’re doing well, and look forward to seeing you for some pod-shaped relief from 2nd December.

Warm wishes, Ed & the Floatworks team.
