Description

Shiatsu is a traditional hands-on Japanese massage therapy, which is closely related to acupuncture. Shiatsu stimulates the body’s vital energy (Chi), which flows through the body along specific energy channels.

Pressure is applied using the hands or fingers, as well as stretching and gentle rotation of joints, in order to energise areas of need or dispersing energy where it is blocked. This stimulates the body’s natural healing power to restore balance and health.
The practitioner may also give advice on diet, exercise and lifestyle, encouraging greater independence in health matters. The treatment takes place on a padded floor mat. It is best to wear loose clothing (such as jogging pants and a T-shirt) for this treatment as you will remain fully clothed during the treatment;
