Description
Reiki is a Japanese term meaning “Universal Life Force Energy”. It is an ancient form of healing whereby the practitioner transfers energy to the client. It is a powerful form of healing that is non-intrusive, and non-manipulative. While focus is usually given to supporting the body’s organs via the seven major chakras, Reiki can be applied to any part of the body. It promotes healing, balance and a sense of wholeness. It helps the body return to its natural perfect state. Reiki works on all levels of our being: physical, emotional, psychological & spiritual. It leads to increased vitality, sense of well-being and inner peace. It is a deeply relaxing, calming treatment, releasing stress and tension. Reiki is very useful to support positive personal change, helping to clear blocks that stop us achieving our goals.
During the treatment the Reiki energy may be felt as a flow of warmth, coolness, or tingling. Everyone is unique and senses different sensations.
As with Shiatsu, the treatment usually takes place on a padded floor mat. You will remain fully clothed for the treatment and it is best to wear loose, comfortable clothing.
