Description

Aromatherapy is a hands-on massage technique using essential oils (extracts of essences) of flowers, herbs and stress to promote health and well-being. The aroma is inhaled whilst the oils are applied to the skin; each individual oil (or combination thereof) addresses a specific disorder. The body is able to utilize the healing properties of the oils through the olfactory system of the body, and so initiate the healing process. Aromatherapy practitioners would also have an understanding of the psychological and emotional factors of illness and then blend a mixture of essential oils for the individual clients needs.
