I've floated many, many times and I find each is different, really depends on how I am before I go in.

Some floats are very deep where I do feel as if I am asleep, I notice the benefits of these sessions afterwards. I certainly get a very deep sleep on the evening after these type of sessions and notice that I feel uplifted and rejuvenated for days afterwards.

I usually have deeper floats when I don't remember too much if I've been working hard and have started to feel run down.

Other sessions are completely different, almost like being awake but being asleep at the same time, I guess this is closer to meditation or perhaps something that I believe is called lucid dreaming.

I find that I have these more dreamy floats if I'm not so worn out when I go in. I also find that if I'm more aware while I start the session, perhaps by visualising myself in a lovely dreamy place then this is usually the way the session will go.

I find if I imagine myself on lying on an isolated beach, with soft sand between the toes and the warmth of the sun again my skin, and maybe the sound of seagulls somewhere in the distance. Then this will usually lead to a session that is more in the dream state.

I wouldn't worry as I am sure you are benefiting from your deep floats and I would also suggest that perhaps these deep sessions are what you mind and body currently need.
